It has been a little overwhelming to organize and set up my classroom, but I have been making steady progress. The previous teacher left wonderful lesson plans and detailed curriculum notes that have been extremely helpful in planning. I have just felt so blessed. Not knowing all of the specifics as to what would be available for our classrooms, my expectations have been far exceeded. From having lesson plans to a classroom library, and posters to a paper supply room, God has provided for our basic needs and even more so. I can't wait to share all of these resources with my students and start learning together!
I have to keep reminding myself that I need to make my list and do a little each day so things do not get too overwhelming. I read my devotion this afternoon and it reminded me to "Find [God] in the midst of the maelstrom." God is always with us, even when our lists seem to be getting longer rather than shorter for one project, and there seem to be a million other things going on as well. That reminder helped me to take a deep breath and to thank God that I have a classroom to set up and a place to teach for the school year. No one said life was going to be easy, but I am so thankful that I can trust in God to give me peace and strength to make it through each day. Whether you are having a good day or a cRaZy day, God is right there with you.
It is an amazing feeling to be able to work in a Christian environment, where we are able to pray before meetings, listen to Christian music at work, and talk about how God is working in our lives together! It all just makes me so excited for what is to come!
